Manzanita II
My favorite manzanita tree from my last trip. I didn’t work up the nerve to draw it when I was there, and the photograph unfortunately turn out to be difficult to draw from. I’d love to keep drawing manzanita trees, though, until I can finally do them justice. Pigma micron pen again, with actual watercolors this time.

The Giraffe
Another digital painting, again from one of last year’s poems. Though a completely different style this time, obviously. In a pleasant bit of irony, the font used here is called “The Happy Giraffe.”

The Owl
Last year I wrote a bunch of animal poems for NaPoWriMo, with the intention of eventually illustrating them and maybe even making a book. Life got crazy and sidetracked that project for a while, but here’s one of them, finally.

Ananda Moyi Ma
Ananda Moyi Ma, painted from a photograph. This is my first piece done entirely digitally, start to finish, using a Wacom Intuos tablet and ArtRage 4.5. Probably not the easiest picture to start learning with, but I'd had this in mind to paint for a while, so there we go. Working with a tablet and software takes at least as much getting used to as any traditional media, but it's starting to be fun as I get the hang of it.
